Pups are just about ready to go to their new homes. Evaluations went well and I think I know which pups are going to which homes. I am getting sad to see them leave but happy to know they'll bring joy and happiness to many families.

6 week Photos
You have no idea how many photos it took just to get these shots!! 6 week old puppies are not the most accommodating when it comes to standing still! Enjoy as these guys are growing like weeds and before you know they'll be headed to their forever homes. It'll be a sad time but happy to know they'll be with such wonderful families.

Outside in our playpen
Puppies are enjoying their days outside in their playpen.
When Jason is home we let them run around in the big yard
with Reni but it is very hard to keep track of all 8 of them by
myself so I only let them run for a few minutes when I'm home alone.
Yesterday (Tuesday) they spent almost 12 hours outside as it was a gorgeous day.
They were very displeased to come in the house for the evening but once they ate their supper
and had a little play, they fell peacefully asleep.
Dawn, our puppy sitter ended up very ill yesterday and is recovering from a severe kidney infection. We're wishing her a quick recovery and the puppies send their love to her.

5 week photos
White & Light Blue
Purple & Yellow
Green & Orange
Sky Blue & Pink
As you might have figured out, things are getting very busy in our house. As pups grow and become more active, I have less time to post about their antics. I will do my best to give updates as time permits but rest assured that they are having a great time and have experienced the outdoors for the first time this past weekend. They spend quite a bit of time outside as long as it's warm enough and then we let Reni run them around the yard until she gets tired of them trying to nurse on her. It's very cute to watch. I promise I will try to get some video of it and post it but please be patient. The 5 week photos aren't the best but it was late at night and I was very tired and the pups were very awake!! Everyone tells me that in about 3 weeks I'll be ready for the pups to go to their new homes but at this point I can't possibly imagine that! Their personalities are really starting to come through and for the most part, they're a lot of fun! They're learning how to use a litter box and while not consistent they are using it so that makes cleaning their living area a little messy. OK, so here are the 5 week photos!

Puppydom with Pink Girl
Tonight I was playing with pups and pink came over and chewed on my hair. I started to scratch her ear as I do with the big dogs and she literally feel asleep in my hand. So cute!!
Enjoy the photo and we'll get the 4 week photos up Friday or Saturday. Stay tuned, they're really starting to get cute now and play with each other and run around in their pen. We'll see if we can actually get video of it this weekend although we start a full schedule of puppy visits this weekend. Wish us well!

2 Week Photos
Sky Blue & Pink
White & Light Blue
Sorry, we're a little late with the 2 week photos. Some of the pups were not nursing well so we've been spending a lot of time making sure everyone is warm, hydrated and fed. I'll try not to jinx myself but it looks like for now everyone is bouncing back and all are still gaining.
The pups are starting to chew on one another and they've started to make little barks and growls, it's so adorable! I'll try to take a video sometime and see if I can catch them doing it and upload here to the blog.
Enjoy the photos and hopefully I'll have a little more time to get more photos and info up on the pups from now on.

Lazy Days and Sleepness Nights
Oh the joys of pups! They are so cute and yet can cause so much stress. In the first few weeks the pups cannot control their own body temperature so you must make sure they have a consistent room temperature that mimicks their body temperature. Usually if they are hot, they'll crawl to the outside of the box and if they are cold they'll huddle together and curl up and cry. Then they need to be nursed by their mom every 2 to 4 hours to make sure they remain strong and gain weight.
Today the pups eyes are opening and I don't think they can probably see quite yet but I'm sure there's blurs of motion they do see. In a few days they should be fully open and it is quite amazing to see their progress. They are 12 days old today and hard to believe it's been that long ago already. They grow so fast.
I am still sleep deprived which doesn't help my demeanor so if you have contacted me and I wasn't particularly pleasant, I apologize, it's just the lack of sleep and stress talking.
Here's a few pictures from last night after one of their feedings.

1 Week Birthday- May 1st
Sky Blue Boy Pink Girl
Green Girl Orange Girl
Well we've made it one week already! Hard to believe it's been a week since these pups were born. It's been a long week with highs and lows but we're hoping that we continue gaining weight and growing. I will try to supplement them by bottle feeding starting today as they are gaining but they are draining Reni's supply of milk quickly. It's hard to be a momma of so many babies! She's doing a great job with them and if quite attentive. Here's the first in a series of pictures I'll take on a weekly basis so you can see how fast the pups grow and change.
